Congratulations Coach Joella Gallegos!

"The owl is a time honored emblem of knowledge and wisdom. Being older than the
rest of you, I am asked to advise you from time to time as the need arises. I hope that my advice
will always be based on true knowledge and ripened with wisdom"

📢 Did you know? In Texas, schools are funded based on student attendance, not enrollment! 🎓💵
The state counts a child present if students are in class when attendance is taken each day: 10 a.m. for Elementary and ECC, 9:45 a.m. for Middle School, and 9:15 a.m. for High School.
Help us boost our district wide attendance rate! Ensure your child is in school or schedule appointments before or after attendance is taken. If your child has a medical appointment make sure they attend before or after the appointment and bring a medical excuse.
Together, we can make every school day count! 🏫✨

If you are headed to Flour Bluff for the basketball game tomorrow please review this information! Safe travels!

News from Jourdanton Elementary..
Mr. Camp is our teacher of 3 weeks and Mrs. Robertson is our instructional aide of 6 weeks. Horace Man provided Mr. Camp and Mrs. Robertson with their goodies this time.
Mr. Camp has gone above and beyond to prepare the 5th graders for great AVID skills to succeed in their upcoming year for 6th grade.

📚 Help Jourdanton ISD Maintain Strong Student Attendance 🌟
To ensure your student doesn't miss out on learning opportunities and to support our district's funding:
- Schedule dentist and doctor appointments outside of school hours or in the afternoon to avoid full-day absences.
- Plan family trips and vacations during scheduled school breaks whenever possible.
- Keep sick children home until they are fever-free for 24 hours without medication to prevent spreading illness.
- Sending a child to school sick can lead to more missed days for them and potential work days for parents.
Let's prioritize attendance for a successful school year!

Bella has done it again! Last night, Senior, Bella DeLeon competed but this time 'Unequipped.' She placed 2nd amongst a field of competitors that were lifting 'Equipped.'
Bella's unequipped total of 910 pounds, places her first in the entire State of Texas for Unequipped lifters. She already holds first in the State for Equipped lifting. After posting the heaviest squat, of 375, Bella asked if she could attempt 405 pounds just for "funzies" and the judges were more than happy to accommodate her. The 405 pounds went up with ease as her teammates celebrated and on lookers just stared in amazement. Bella went on to bench 170 and deadlift 365.
Juniors, Emelia Garcia and Jadie Apolinario had great nights and likely secured spots for Regionals. Big shout outs to Layla Lozano and Christal Gomez, as their strength and determination warmed the hearts of the spectators.
Saturday powerlifters will be competing in Karnes City to better their totals in hopes of making Regionals.

The School Board was proud to recognize these staff and students at last nights meeting.
