I'm Faythlin Warren and I am beyond excited to join the Jourdanton Tribe this year as an Elementary teacher! I was born and raised in Lytle, Texas and graduated from Texas A&M University San Antonio with my Bachelor's degree in Interdisciplinary Studies. I cannot wait to meet and officially become part of the amazing community and make our classroom positive, inclusive and your favorite place to learn all the amazing things that are yet to come! Happy Tuesday! We are back with another NEW STAFF SPOTLIGHT! Welcome Melanie Raposo! She will be the new High School Counselor! With over 20 years of experience in education, I’ve had the privilege of serving as a teacher, academic dean, school counselor, and principal. I hold a master’s degree in Educational Psychology from Texas A&M University and am passionate about supporting students’ academic and emotional growth. My husband, Jay, and I have been married for 29 years and are proud parents of two grown children—both Texas A&M graduates—one in civil engineering and the other serving as an ESL instructional specialist at IDEA Public Schools. We recently welcomed a new addition to the family, our rescue pup, Sir Winston. Outside of work, I enjoy yoga and spending time with my family. Welcome to the Tribe Melanie!

NEW STAFF SPOTLIGHT! Welcome Jacob Waclawczyk to Jourdanton ISD! Jacob will be teaching 7th Grade math and Algebra 1 at Jourdanton Junior High. Howdy! My name is Jacob Waclawczyk, and I’m thrilled to be part of the Jourdanton community. I graduated from Texas A&M University (Gig 'em!) and bring 16 years of experience in education as a teacher, coach, and administrator. I’m passionate about creating a positive and engaging learning environment where every student feels valued, supported, and excited to grow. I come from a close-knit family who inspires me every day with their support and kindness. I’m also proud to be joining my own family here in Jourdanton. My wife, Carla, teaches at the elementary school, and our children, Alli, Kalli, and Raynie, are students at the junior high and elementary schools. What excites me most about joining Jourdanton is the strong commitment to success and the close community spirit that’s so evident here. I look forward to contributing to this mission and learning alongside such a dedicated and passionate team. Welcome to the TRIBE!

NEW STAFF SPOTLIGHT! Jourdanton, say hello to Christa Maldonado! She will be the new Assistant Principal at the High School! With 11 years of experience as a campus and district administrator—I bring a well-rounded perspective and a deep commitment to student growth and success. High school is where my heart truly is; I love witnessing a student’s educational journey come full circle as they prepare to take on the world. At home, I’m a proud mom of two busy student-athletes, fully immersed in the life of a volleyball and basketball mom. I’ve been married to my wonderful husband for 15 years— we share our home with our two rescue cats and a third child our beloved chihuahua, Buddy. I’m beyond excited to join the Jourdanton family. I’ve heard so many great things about this supportive, close-knit community, and I’m honored to be a part of it. Welcome to the TRIBE!

NEW STAFF SPOTLIGHT Meet: Tenille Bryan Position: SPED Teacher I’m excited to join JISD and The Tribe! I am passionate about supporting students and helping them navigate challenges they face. Outside of work, I’m all about family. I am married and we have two children. Our son is a senior this year and loves playing Football, Baseball, and he shows pigs through FFA. Our daughter will be in 5th grade this year and loves playing Softball and she shows pigs through FFA. Welcome to the Tribe Tenille!

We're back with another NEW STAFF SPOTLIGHT! Meet: Marivel Hoggard Position: Assistant Principal Elementary Hey Jourdanton! I’m Marivel (Garcia) Hoggard, and I’m beyond excited to be joining the Jourdanton Elementary family as your new Assistant Principal! I was born and raised just down the road in Pleasanton, and life has come full circle—my family and I recently moved back to my roots on the family farm. My husband Jon and I have three amazing kids—DJ, Bella, and Golden—and we’re all thrilled to be part of the tribe! I earned my undergraduate degree from UIW, spent 8 incredible years teaching in East Central ISD, and later earned my Master’s in Educational Technology Leadership (plus my principal certification!). Since then, I’ve served as the Instructional Technology Coordinator in both Southside ISD and South San Antonio ISD. Now, I’m stepping into this leadership role with so much excitement to support our teachers and students in growing academically, emotionally, and everything in between. I can’t wait to meet you all and become part of this amazing community! Let’s make it a great year—together! Welcome to the Tribe Marivel!!

Last week we had some exciting announcements about some of our coaching staff , now onto our NEW STAFF SPOTLIGHT! As we have hired new staff over the last several months we have asked them to tell us a little about themselves to share with our community. We are excited to share ALL the new staff that are joining our district! Meet: Phoebe Aguilar Position: ECC Counselor Hello, I’m Phoebe Aguilar, the new ECC Counselor at JISD! I’m excited to join the team here at Jourdanton ISD and to have the opportunity to give back to the community I grew up in. I’m originally from this area, and after spending five years in San Marcos, I decided it was time to return home. My husband and I, both with deep roots in this city, are thrilled to be back, surrounded by family, and ready to start this next chapter of our lives. I graduated from Texas State University (Eat ‘Em Up Cats!) with my undergrad and went on to earn a Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from UTSA, where I graduated at the top of my class. I was fortunate enough to be part of some incredible organizations like Chi Sigma Iota at UTSA and Phi Kappa Phi at Texas State. These experiences helped shape who I am today as a counselor and a person. I’m passionate about supporting students and helping them navigate the challenges they face. It’s an honor to be back in this community and to be able to make a positive impact on the lives of the students and families here. Outside of work, I’m all about family, friends, and enjoying the simple pleasures of country living. I have three giant furbabies who keep me on my toes, and I love spending time with people, whether that’s hiking, floating the river, or a good yap session. I’m looking forward to getting to know everyone and being part of this wonderful community! Welcome to the tribe Phoebe! We are glad to have you!
