Jourdanton ISD Board of Trustees named Justin Saunders as the Jourdanton High School Principal last night.
Welcome to the Tribe Saunders Family!
My name is Justin Saunders, and I am proud to have been named the new Jourdanton High School Principal. Having been born and raised just down the road in Somerset, Texas, Jourdanton seems like home to me. I have been a Texas educator for 17 years. I taught agriculture science for seven years, teaching in Lockhart and Somerset, Texas. In 2011 I moved into administration and worked as an assistant principal for the next eight years. During my career, I have been fortunate enough to be the administrator at every grade level, working with students from K to 12. I was honored to be named Assistant Principal of the Year for Schertz Cibolo Universal City ISD in 2018. In 2019 I became the principal of Somerset High School.
My wife, Abby Saunders, has also been named the new Jourdanton ISD district librarian. She has nineteen years of experience as a public educator in Texas, nine years as an elementary teacher, and ten years as a campus librarian. In 2021, Abby was named the Teacher of the Year for Paschal Elementary and SCUC ISD Librarian of the Year. She has served as campus librarian for Alconbury Elementary on base at RAF Alconbury in Huntingdon, England, for the past two years.
We have three beautiful little girls, Ava, Adalyn, and Aubrey. While we have had a fantastic experience living overseas for the past two years, we can't wait to get back home and serve the outstanding students, staff, and community of Jourdanton, Texas!
