The Jourdanton Early Childhood Center will be conducting a practice lockout drill on Thursday, September 23rd at 2:15 pm.
A lockout means all doors are locked and no one is let in or out of the building. School continues as normal.
A lockout is called when there is a threat or hazard outside the school building. Typically, law enforcement or another emergency agency asks the school to go into a lockout.
In the event of an actual lockout, parents will be informed once the school has full and accurate information.
We appreciate your cooperation as we practice lockout procedures with your child. We value your child and their safety and want to be prepared in the event of an actual threat.
Jourdanton ECC has decided to hold a Read-a-thon this year!
Read-a-thons actually get your reader excited about reading and it gives friends and family the opportunity to encourage your child to read even more.
Our Read-a-thon starts Friday October 1st 2021.
About one week before our Read-a-thon starts we will send home instructions on how to activate your reader's personal page. This is where you will be able to view and record their progress.
We've chosen Read-a-thon because it will not take much of your time, gives your child a reason to read and helps in the development of stronger reading skills.
We hope EVERYONE participates.

Jourdanton Early Childhood will be closed on Monday, September 6th in observance of the Labor Day Holiday. There will be no After School Kids this Friday, September 3rd as well.

The Jourdanton ECC students are able to get a free breakfast at this time. Our drop off starts at 7:30 am. Students must be finished eating breakfast by 8:00 am to start the instructional day. Please make sure you allow your child enough time to go by their room, to the cafeteria to eat and back by 8:00 am.
Reminders:
If you have not purchased your child's planner or class shirt, youmay go online to the Jourdanton ISD school Store and do so. Students are allowed to bring plastic refillable water bottles if they choose. Students may also bring an individual snack for after lunch. Please label them with their name and make sure they know what is lunch and what is a snack.

All new and returning students MUST submit proof of residence to complete registration for this year to receive the student's teaching assignment.
Our office is open from 8:00 am - 4:00 pm.
Meet the Teacher is Monday, August 9th from 5:00-6:30 pm. Come find out who your teacher is, speak to the transportation department, nurse and cafeteria staff. You can also drop off your supplies and take Back to School pictures!

We are busy at school preparing for your child to return. All returning and new students MUST show proof of residency prior to receiving the name of your child's teacher. This can be accomplished by submitting a copy of your electric or water bill to our office via email at tgallegos@jisdtx.us or dropping by our office Monday through Thursday from 8:00 am - 4:00 pm. All class lists, reflecting only students who have shown proof of residency, will be posted August 9th. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact our office at 830-769-2121.
